Hello! My name is Adeleine, but you can call me Addie; I’m a Graphic Designer with a love for fantasy and mythical creatures.
| Here I am! |
I grew up in Virginia, near Powhatan. I don’t remember much from the time I lived there, but I know my brothers and I shared an awesome tree house, and we had a cat named Beto that didn’t like me much. When I was still very young, my family and I packed up and moved to southern Texas. We lived there until 2018, then we moved to Austin, Texas. Since the state is so large, that was about a 6 hour move, and we’ve been there ever since. I never really had a great interest in art until my brother went to college. Wanting to send my brother things to cheer him up, but not having much to say, I started looking up things I could copy in drawing and coloring and send to him. Adobe Photoshop 2002 was my first introduction to Adobe programs, and I was easily drawn into the unique program, actually using it to make Facebook post art and presentation slides for my church. I thought my drawing ability was non-existent upon arrival to college, but the introductory classes helped to draw out (pun intended) skills I didn’t know I had.
Through my years at PCC, I have come to love clay sculpting, black and white drawing, and Adobe Illustrator. I used my Illustrator skill to accomplish an internship with IDEA Public Schools, and have given many of my completed projects as gifts to friends and family. The journey of Graphic Design at PCC has been a roller coaster
from start to finish, and there were plenty of times I thought I couldn’t make it. But now that I am nearing the end of the road, I look back and see how much I stressed over little stuff. Art, for me, is relaxing and fun and a great way to just spread happiness. I plan to continue making art for friends and family alike, and enjoying the joy it brings them.
